About

Founded by Christopher Kinsey & Maggie Costales in 2018,

PVMNT is a collective of performance artists based in NYC specializing in the creation of physical narratives and immersive experiences from our queer perspectives as Gen-Z artists. Our mission is to challenge the boundaries & ideals of traditional performance and the singularity of dance.

We aim to create thought-provoking, emotionally charged performances that transport our audiences into new worlds. Our approach is collaborative and multidisciplinary, drawing inspiration from a range of artistic practices and mediums.

Through our work, we hope to inspire critical conversations around identity, representation, and social justice. We believe that art has the power to transform minds and spark change, and we are committed to using our platform to amplify the voices of the queer community.

Join us on this journey as we explore the intersection of art, activism, and the unspoken complexities of the queer experience.

MARY CUSANO AMSTERDAM

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Mary Cusano Amsterdam lives in New York City and focuses her time on volunteer projects and political and social justice activism. Formerly a practicing corporate attorney, Mary’s legal career included working at a large NYC firm, heading the legal department of a division of an S&P 500 company, and ultimately helming her own boutique FinTech law firm. After retiring from the practice of law, Mary started an artisanal chocolate business, where she personally hand-made every delicious piece of chocolate. She then became involved in the dance world, first as an advisor to a start-up pre-professional company and then as Executive Director of Z Artists Group, also a pre-professional dance education and performance company founded by Joelle Cosentino. While at ZAG, Mary was an Executive Producer for a number of performances including shows at the Brooklyn Navy Yards and the Angel Orensanz Center. In 2018, Mary was one of the organizers and producers and the keynote speaker for Dancers Demand Action, a benefit performance at the Joyce Theater that featured nine NY-based dance companies. The net proceeds were donated to Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Sense in America. Shortly after this performance, Mary joined the leadership team of Moms Demand Action - NYC. Today, Mary continues her work with dance companies as a member of the Business Development committee of GALLIM Dance.
